L&D Article Review #20

You ever go down a rabbit hole after reading a comments section? 🐇 This was my experience as I learned more and more about accessibility in E-Learning. This is my 30 L&D articles in 30 days challenge! (Link to the article down below)

Article #20: How to Test Your E-Learning Course with a Screen Reader - By Allison LaMotte

How long it took to read? - 5 minutes

Who is it for? - Developers who want to know more about assistive technology and how to test their E-Learning for accessibility.

What I took from this article - Sometimes I like to read the comments section before I flip through an article. It can get me in the right headspace when reading in the same way a friend's recommendation can entice me to watch a new show. Like a friend's recommendation, it can also open a treasure trove of new experiences, as this article's comment section did for me! I learned more about popular screen readers and how some struggle to function with certain authoring tools. I also learned how important of an issue this is for so many who rely on these tools to be accessible. I'll definitely be diving into WCAG and 508 compliance after reading this because this is one rabbit hole I'm excited to go down!
