L&D Article Review #14

Quizzes sometimes stress me out 😖 My school days have ingrained in me to binge as much information as possible before a test and then regurgitate it on exam day. It's most likely due to the importance of test grades in our future. Talk about pressure! But what if tests had no real stakes surrounding them? What if they were used for a different purpose? This is my 30 L&D articles in 30 days challenge (Link to the article down below).

Article #14: How to Quiz Your Learners at the Right Time - By Amanda Nielsen

How long it took to read? - 3 minutes

Who is it for? - Anyone who wants their quizzes to provide more than stress when administered.

What I took from the article - "Quiz early, Quiz often!" This may seem counterintuitive for many of us, who use quizzes as knowledge assessments after content has been "learned". However, the author provides multiple uses for quizzing that I find refreshing. Quizzing at the beginning can pique a learner's interest in what's the come while quizzing throughout can offer micro knowledge applications. I also really like the idea of testing out of a course (If the lessons aren't mandatory, that is). This is a short and sweet article to remind us that quizzes can take more than one scary form.
